Dr. Sarup Prasad Ghosh was born on 3rd October in Kolkata. He is an Indian by nationality, writer and academician by profession. He studied in South Point School, Kolkata, Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, St. Xavier’s College and Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He has served as Registrar, Dean of Academics and Controller of Examinations in different academic institutes of repute and at present, the Director of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies, Kolkata. His doctoral and post-doctoral research dissertations are published in book form by reputed publishers. His doctoral dissertation was entitled “Swami Vivekananda’s Views On The Role Of Religion And Caste In India’s Social Political Life: A Contemporary Perspective”. The doctoral dissertation was supervised by Professor P. Bhattacharya and Professor Nirad Baran Chakraborty. His first post-doctoral dissertation was entitled “Swami Vivekananda’s Economic Thought In Modern International Perspective: India As A Case Study”. His first post-doctoral dissertation was supervised by Professor Dhires Bhattacharyya and Professor Subrata Gupta. The second post-doctoral dissertation was entitled “The Relevance Of The Ideas Of Swami Vivekananda On International Relations: India’s Foreign Policy As A Case Study”. The second post-doctoral dissertation was supervised by Profesor Radharaman Chakraborty. His third post-doctoral dissertation was entitled “The Vivekananda Doctrine And The New Dimensions In The Study Of Ethics In The Corporate Culture Of Modern India”. The third post-dissertation was supervised by Professor Anandamohan Ghosh. His main fields of study is Social Sciences. Dr. Ghosh is also associated with the Ramakrishna Mission for a long period. His doctoral and post-doctoral dissertations are all published by reputed publishers from Kolkata. He has written numerous articles in all standard newspapers and journals published from Kolkata. He has attended several Seminars/ Conferences/ Workshops/ Symposiums all throughout India. He is a known commentator in television channels of Kolkata. Being an orator, he has participated in different debate competitions conducted by different newspaper groups and television channels of Kolkata. He has received awards from different organizations in India. He has worked as Registrar under Padma Shree Professor Ramaranjan Mukherjee when he was the Chairman of the Board of Governors at that time. He has also worked as Registrar under Professor Bhabesh Bhattacharya and Professor Pritimoy Bhattacharya who were Directors at different times. He has also worked under Professor Sprashamani Chatterjee who was the Chairman of Board of Governors at that time. He has served as Dean of Academics and Controller of Examinations under Professor Ashok Ranjan Thakur who was the Vice-Chancellor at that time. He is a Court Member of the Sikkim University (a Central University) located at Gangtok, Sikkim.
